Natural Joy Beauty Organic Pit Putty Cream by Bubble and Bee & NourishOrganic Deodorant

It's an embarrassing subject, but it has to be talked about. Body odor- we can't ignore it, and without the right deodorant we are without a doubt offensive in odor. Since going natural, this is one area I was most hesitant and skeptical about changing. Although I like to think I don't smell too bad, I have gone without using deodorant for a while, and though I want to eliminate harsh chemicals from my underarm area, going without any product at all simply won't do for me. Enough was enough, so I decided to try two natural deodorant brands to see which best suited me. Keep reading to find out my experience.

1. Nourish Organic Fresh & Dry Deodorant

I read many reviews from fellow green bloggers that this deodorant was an excellent pick. I chose the following scents: Lavender Mint (which I picked up from Whole Foods) and Fresh Fig.

Description: Lavender Mint is described as: "Lightly scented with organic lavender and mint." The scent was a little to minty for my taste. I wish the Lavender dominated the mint but in this case it did not.

Fresh Fig is described as: "Lightly scented with organic fig and apricot." This scent smelled exactly like sugared figs. This was one scent I truly enjoyed.

The Feel: "This blend of naturally deodorizing cornstarch, vegetable protein, soothing shea, cocoa butters, beeswax, and coconut oil leaves you feeling fresh all day, every day." The deodorants were a little gritty going on and had a waxy feel from the oils, butters and beeswax ingredients. The deodorants did not stain my clothing nor did it irritate my skin with the gritty texture.

Free from: "Parabans, phthalates, petrochemicals, artificial fragrances, preservatives, silicones, propylene glycol, mineral oils, sulfates, synthetic dyes, triclosan, EDTA and aluminum."

Ingredients: Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Corn Starch, Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Saccharomyces Ferment, Organic Fragrance

Price: Nourish Organic or Whole Foods - $9.99

* I purchased Lavender Mint with my own money, and Fresh Fig was sent by Nourish Organic. I have not been compensated in any way for this review. The opinions are my own and I am not affiliated with the company mentioned.*

2. Natural Joy Beauty Orange Vanilla Pit Putty Organic Cream Deodorant by Bubble & Bee Organic

I've been wanting to test this unique cream deodorant and finally got the chance. It comes in a cream form instead of a stick, (which I've read crumbles) you apply it with your fingers and can control how much product to apply. I like that I can depend on Natural Joy Beauty for doing research on ingredients I know are good for me. I can get lazy at times, and it's great to depend on a company that is truly genuinely green to research ingredients for me. This is why I chose the deodorant by Bubble and Bee because I knew Natural Joy Beauty would not steer me wrong.

Description: Bubble and Bee's Orange Vanilla Pit Putty Cream is described as: "Sweet citrus mellowed with vanilla. All the power of the stick in the convenience of a cream! Shea butter keeps the formula stuck to skin through sweating, while arrowroot powder absorbs sweat. All our creams also have baking soda to raise the pH of the underarm and make it less hospitable to odor-causing bacterial growth!" This product smells amazing, even after a good work out I double checked my pit and instead of smelling like body odor, I smelled sweet and citrusy.

The Feel: The deodorant was creamy, silky, and melted with my body's temperature which quickly absorbed. It spread on easy like soft butter and left my pit feeling soft. The product was clear and did not stain my clothing.

Ingredients: Organic arrowroot powder, organic shea butter, organic coconut oil, organic sunflower oil, (aluminum-free) baking soda, organic orange essential oil, organic vanilla extract.

Price: $10.85 2 oz. - $3.99 for a sample

*Product was sent to me (with HUGE thanks!) from Natural Joy Beauty free of charge, with hopes of a review. I do not guarantee a positive review or any review at all for that matter, for any products I receive. Whether I receive products as a gift from the brand, or purchase them myself, my opinions remain honest and unbiased*.

The Verdict's In:

1. Nourish Organic Fresh & Dry Deodorant

Final Verdict: I wanted to love this deodorant since I adore their other products, but it was not a winner for me, sadly. I first tried Lavender Mint and I had to keep reapplying it throughout the day, which made me smell worse than not putting anything on. I contacted the company and was sent a different scent of Fresh Fig. Fresh Fig smelled lovely and I thought I would have a different reaction to the scent but it was the same as the Lavender Mint. My body's chemistry did not do well with this brand, but it was nice to finally try it.

Final Thoughts: Even thought I'm bummed that the deodorant did not work, I will continue to support their other great products.

2. Natural Joy Beauty Orange Vanilla Pit Putty Organic Cream Deodorant by Bubble & Bee Organic

Final Verdict: The Winner of the two. I only had to apply this deodorant ONCE! This is huge news! Running after two kids can work up a sweat. Don't get me wrong, I had my doubts about the product and kept sniffing my underarms to make sure I did not smell foul. I was pleasantly surprised that all I smelled was the wonderful aroma of orange with a hint of vanilla. My body's chemistry had a much better reaction with this brand and I hope it keeps working with the changing seasons.

Final Thought: You can count on Natural Joy Beauty for excellent product research. The ingredients in the Bubble and Bee's Orange and Vanilla Pit Putty Cream were great examples of excellent research. I truly hope this deodorant is the one for me. The ultimate test will be the upcoming hot, Texas, summer. Natural Joy Beauty has my future support offering a wide variety of green products. Imagine buying all (not all, but they do have a large selection) of your natural products from one store instead of purchasing from multiple ones. Job well done Natural Joy Beauty!
