Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum

Monday, March 31, 2014

My last local find for the month of March is a company established in Portland, Maine, who years later migrated to the great city of Austin,Texas helping Austin, "Keep it weird!" (A famous Austin saying). Mad Hippie Advanced Skin Care offers a wide variety of skin care products for young and mature skin types.

A little about Mad Hippie from the website: "Here at Mad Hippie we take skin care seriously, but we also take corporate responsibility seriously. We know and appreciate the faith a customer puts into a company when buying their line, and that’s why we strive to always make the safest, most effective products possible. Unfortunately, the beauty care industry is riddled with companies that are strictly profit-minded & willing to fill their products with anything if it is cheap, regardless of the health consequences to the consumer. Call us hippies, but we just don’t feel that’s right. Here at Mad Hippie we wouldn’t put anything into our skin care products that we wouldn’t feel comfortable putting on to our own skin. Ever."

Mad Hippie was kind enough to send me their Vitamin C Serum. I have been using the Vitamin C Serum for a month in order to fully experience its benefits.

A little about the Vitamin C Serum from www.madhippie.com: "Brighten, Tighten & Smooth the Skin, While Reducing the Effects of Photo-aging. Our award-winning vitamin C serum is a harmonious blend of antioxidants that work wonders on sun damaged, aging skin.  Eliminate wrinkles & discoloration while curbing the aging effects of the sun."

My thoughtsThis serum is out of this world! I did not notice quick results, but after a month of using the product day and night, my face appears brighter, radiant, glowing and evened out. I do get occasional breakouts, and the Vitamin C Serum quickly diminishes them and keeps my skin clear. This is HUGE for me, because who likes breakouts? I have not noticed much elimination of wrinkles, but perhaps that's something that comes with more time with the product. The serum smells fresh and absorbs quickly into my skin without a greasy feel. I do not have to use a lot of product so a little goes a long way. All in all, this is an outstanding serum and I will definitely purchase it!

Ingredients: Water Deionized, Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate), Alkyl Benzoate, Vegetable Glycerin, Water, Glycerin, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate, Clary Sage (Salvia Sclarea), Grapefruit (Citrus Grandis), Hyaluronic acid, Amorphophallus Konjac Root Powder, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf, Vitamin E (Tocotrienol), Ferulic acid, Chamomile Flower Extract (Recutita Matricaria), Sodium Phytate, Xanthum Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose

Price: $33.99

Final thoughts: Yes, I would recommend the Vitamin C Serum for any skin type. My face has a lovely radiant glow and my skin is clear and bright which is a big plus. I hope you give this "Keep Austin Weird" company a try, this is an outstanding serum and I will definitely repurchase it!
